Welcome!

I’ll have plenty to post here, things I think and talk about that I want to share with you. It will be a repository of sorts. Probably plenty of things regarding web development, life, cooking, recipes, working, health, etc.

A little about me…

Since you’re so curious, I live with my wonderful wife and baby girl in Wisconsin. We’ve been married since 2010 and it’s been the best adventure of my life!

I’ve been building websites for people, non-profits, embassies, and businesses since 2012. The website are on WordPress, so they’re easy to manage and update for clients. I really love doing this. It’s the perfect mix of problem solving, building, and life-long learning. And there’s plenty to learn in web development!

I’ve mostly freelanced, working through platforms like toptal and Codeable, as well as a brief stint as a web engineer with 10up.

I spent a little over two years as VP of Development at The Digital Ring, building out custom applications and leading/mentoring the dev team. It was awesome!

Most recently, was a Senior WordPress engineer at Strattic for two years, building custom serverless integrations for WordPress (🤯, a ton of fun!) with an awesome team of folks. Strattic was acquired by Elementor, and I spent a year working there as a Full Stack Developer.

I’m an avid learner and have made a habit of collecting masters degrees. I have three: a masters of business administration, a masters of divinity, and a masters in citizenship and human rights: ethics and politics.

We love traveling. I’ve been to six continents (not Antartica… yet!), lived on four. I speak Spanish and I’m varying degrees of conversational in a couple other languages. Family, friends, food, coffee, and cooking are basically my favorite activities outside of work.

I’ll put up some of my favorite recipes and concoctions here for your viewing and tasting pleasure. If I knew I couldn’t fail, I’d probably open a restaurant where I made a few dishes a day for people, open for lunch and work until everything was sold out. Interesting flavors and “hiding vegetables” are two signatures of my cooking.

Feel free to leave comments and share anything you find on here.

Stay tuned for regular reading…

Cheers,
