Discipline Equals Freedom
Format: 📖 Book
Overall impression:
Well that escalated quickly! If you need some motivation to get going, this is it. Also has training and nutrition guidelines.
Where does self discipline come from? It comes from you. So make the decision. Make the commitment. Become the discipline–embrace its cold and relentless power. And it will make you better and stronger and smarter and faster and healthier than anything else. And most important: it will make you free.
Don’t fight stress. Embrace it. Turn it on itself. Use it to make yourself sharper and more alert. Use it to make you think and learn and get better and smarter and more effective. Use the stress to make you a better you.
When your feelings are screaming at you that you have had enough, when you think you are going to break emotionally, override that emotion with concrete logic and willpower that says one thing: I don’t stop.
Fight weak emotions with the power of logic; fight the weakness of logic with the power of emotion.
And in the balance of those two, you will find the strength and the tanacity and the guts to say to yourself: I. Don’t. Stop.
And most important: Question yourself. Question yourself every day.
Ask yourself:
- Who am I?
- What have I learned?
- What have I created?
- What forward progress have I made?
- Who have I helped?
- What am I doing to improve myself–today? To get better, faster, stronger, healthier, smarter?
Is this what I want to be? This? Is this all I’ve got–is this everything I can give? Is this going to be my life? Do I accept that?
Self-sabotage: You aren’t scared to win. You are scared to work.
Guess what? Winning takes work. It takes effort. It takes grind.
Failure to do the work isn’t “self-sabotage.”
It is just plain old-fashioned “LAZY“.
DON’T BE LAZY.
Let’s find out.
What would happen if you implemneted unmitigated daily discipline in your life?
What would happen if you stopped procrastinating?
What if you lined up tasks and smashed them?
What if you aggressively and unmercifully pursued your goals?
Where would all that end up?
Would you be guaranteed to win?
Is victory assured?
… there is only one way to confirm that answer–and that is by executing those things… So… Let’s find out…
